Cupboard Kid

So taday was a crazy day! We are leaving for camping on Monday morning and have a wedding to go to tomorrow so today was a day for running around. First we headed off to my Mom's house to pick up an air mattress for the trailer. Then we took her and headed off to Canadian Tire & Costco for a ''fun'' shopping trip. NEVER GO TO COSTCO ON SATURDAY!!!

Anyway...

We dropped her off and had to go BACK to Canadian Tire and then stopped for lunch.

When we got home we put the kids to bed and then started packing the trailer and un-packing the groceries. Kylie didn't sleep for very long so she came out and helped Mom up-pack food. Well I left the room for a minute and when I came back this is what I found...

Road Trip

My Dad and I decided to take a trip to Regina to see my Grandma. She had only seen Liam once and had never met Kylie. We left on the 14th of July and heading east with the kids and Jared in tow. I was totally surprised at how good of time we made, even with the half a dozen stops we had to make. We arrived in Regina at about 6pm with dinner ready for us. We had a great time visiting family while we were there, some of which I haven't seen in close to 10 years. We enjoyed spending time with Grandma...even though her house was like a sauna. We headed home on the 18th...I was ready to go home. It's hard when I take the kids to a strange place and Kurt's not there to help me. Anyway, here are some pictures from our trip.

Family Pictures

This past week we had our family pictures taken. We met up with our photographer and friend Dee-Ann and her husband Scott down at Fish Creek Park for some pictures and a great time. She took over 400 pictures in about 2 hours. We had a great time, with the exception of the mosquitoes.

This was the first time in years that we have gotten together for pictures. The sad part is that the reason we were getting them done was that my sister and best friend Cheryl and her family are leaving today for their new home....in Ontario.
So not happy about that, slightly depressed.
Anyway, here are a few pictures from our shoot!

Year of Color Weeks 15 & 16

Red & Green

I have really been stumped for a red picture. I'm not sure if this is cheating but I guess since there are no rules then I'm not! A couple of months back I took this picture

of our little friend Noah. He LOVES Spiderman. I love how he's doing the Spiderman hand in the backround.

Green is from a bike festival we went to last week. This is Liam on a Green Machine, he loved riding this thing! His little friend Ella even got on it behind him for a while.

Week 14- BLUE

Today we had a company BBQ for Kurt's work. This year they decided to rent a community center and plan some fun activities for everyone. They had T-shirt painting, the annual soccer game and a bunch of other fun stuff for everyone of every age to do. They brought some badminton racquet's out and when Liam saw them he couldn't wait to play. Kurt's boss helped him for a bit but then when Liam got the idea of it he played with the bosses granddaughter. He was so cute! He tried so hard to keep the birdie on the racket, when he couldn't get it to stay he would just pick it up and run the birdie over to her and throw it to her. He would also just stand there with his racket out, waiting for it to hit it. So cute! So obliviously the 'BLUE' would be his clothing, the great part is that it doesn't matter really what shade of blue it is because he's wearing like 6 different shades including the racket!

Happy Daddy's Day!!

For Father's Day I decided to make Kurt something special. I took a class held by friend of mine and made Kurt a coaster book. I think it turned out pretty good! I'm pretty sure Kurt's going to love it!

Weeks 11 & 12

I realize that this is really late but I've really struggled with this one. We were supposed to try to combine the 2 colors and the only other way to do this for me was to actually put something brown on something lavender. I didn't want to take pictures of my kids all the time for this but oh well, I love taking pictures of them, they are so cute!

Well this morning when I got Kylie dressed I noticed that the writing on her shirt is a lavendery color (it doesn't show too good in the pictures though) and the base color on the shirt is brown...YAY! I did it!!

Week 13- Silver

This week wasn't too hard for me. I actually really like the color silver and have quite a bit of it around the house.

This is our little friend, the I-Pod.
My Mom called me up just before Christmas to ask me what DH (Da Husband) could use for a gift. I started thinking...what could I use for a gift...I mean what could HE put to good use and thats when the I-Pod came to mind. It makes going on road trips so much fun and it's so small that you can just clip it to yourself and you never know it's there!
It has also taken quite a beating from my two year old and is still going strong. I actually found it last week with Liam in the sand box! He's lucky it still works!

Rain Rain Go AWAY!

Yesterday after lunch we decided to head back down to the creek to cool off a bit. Once we were out on the highway heading out to Cochrane (thats where 'the creek' is) we noticed that the sky was getting kinda dark.
I brushed it off telling Kurt "it's just overcast". We got to the creek and it was even darker but we decided that we didn't drive all the way out there for nothing so out we went.
Kurt and Liam played for a while, throwing rocks into the water. We were there for about 45 minutes when it started. First there was a loud cracking sound, followed by some lightening. We gathered up all our stuff and headed back to the van. About halfway to the van it started to rain, not only rain but it really started to pour! Kylie was screaming and Liam was laughing the whole time. It thought it was so funny that we were getting all wet and that we were running as fast as we could!
By the time we got to the van the rain was quickly traded in for some hail. It was crazy!
Well here are some pictures of our 45 minutes of FUN!

I've been tagged...dang Kelly!!

I was checking out my friends blogs today when I noticed that my good friend Kelly tagged me! How could she!!!
So when you get tagged you have to share eight interesting/weird things about yourself and then tag 8 more people. Seeing how I don't have as many people on my list as Kelly, I will just tag a couple of people.

1) The only meat I can really eat is chicken, other meats make me sick.
2) I have no Gallbladder, it was removed when Liam was 3 months old. Up until I have my first attack I had no idea what a gallbladder was!
3) I can't remember going anywhere outside of Canada until 2004 when I spend a month down in California with my sister and her family.
4) I have been in 4 car accidents, only 1 of which wasn't my fault. I'm a good driver now though...I swear!
5) If I plug my nose and blow I can hear air coming out of my eyes...I know, it's kinda gross.
6) I really don't like to cook, but I find baking fun.
7) It wasn't until I got pregnant with Liam that I developed any allergies, now if I get into anything dusty I right away get really wheezy and my eyes turn red and puff up. We had to give away our pet rabbit when I was pregnant because just walking into the same room that it's hay was in would trigger my allergies.
8) I think that Kelly is wrong about being the best belch-er, I think that I could take her in a second!
Now I want to tag Cheryl Condron, Maria Nugent, Starr Mercer & Jeanne Dupuis.

Generations

This past weekend we had a big surprise birthday party for my Grandma Wolsey who just turned 80. It was so much fun sneaking around so she wouldn't find out and hiding family members all over the town. The look on her face was just priceless when she walked into a room filled with her family and friends all there to see her.

My Grandma is such a special lady to me and I love her so much. I have very fond memories of going out to the farm to stay over with her and some of my other cousins.

I have a picture of my Mom, Grandma and myself when I was a baby, I wanted to carry on with the generations pictures so here is one of Grandma, Mom, myself & Kylie.

Double Trouble

Liam and Kylie have really started playing together. They make eachother so happy. Kylie has also learned to follow around Liam and to get into trouble with him. He has even shown her how to take out the vent covers!

We're going to have to really watch these two!

Buckaroo Boy

Liam is such a character. After we moved the other day we found some cowboy hats in a box. Well if any of you know anything about my Dad then you would know that he's only one of the biggest Cowboys EVER! Well Liam's new thing is that he will put on his cowboy hat and run around the house yelling 'YEEEHAAAA'. It is so funny to watch! He hats it when we put hats on him but he LOVES to wear this hat! He defiantly takes after his Grandpa!
